Reason why Neyyar lion safari park which once had 17 inmates remains vacant; Wildlife photographer explains

South India’s first Lion safari park is in Neyyar. An open park for Asiatic Lions was started at Marakunnam island in Neyyar Dam at 1984. Once there were 17 lions and the last lion died in 2021.

Wildlife photographer Biju Karakkonam explains through his experiences why the number of lions in this safari park has reduced from 17 to zero. He tells how the lions died and what happened to them. Biju Karakonam has also shared his experience on Facebook.
