Kanyakumari police recover 405 stolen mobile phones worth Rs 56 lakh, return them to owners

NAGERCOIL: Kanyakumari police have handed over 405 mobile phones that were stolen to the respective owners. The phones were found by the cybercrime department of the Nagercoil SP office based on the complaints received from different police stations in Kanyakumari.

The mobile phones were recovered by a special team led by SI Samseer under the leadership of District Police Chief Harikiran Prasad. The phones were recovered from those who bought them at second-hand prices from the shops, from shops selling old phones, and from the accused in the theft cases.

In a function held yesterday morning at SP office in Nagercoil, South Zone DIG Pravesh Kumar handed over 405 phones to their owners. The officials who led the investigation said that the value of these phones would be Rs 56 lakh.
