LUCKNOW: After not getting a favorable verdict from the Gujarat High Court in the defamation case, Rahul Gandhi suffers a setback in the Lucknow court as well. Lucknow court ordered an inquiry into Rahul Gandhi's remarks against Savarkar. The court directed that the police investigate the incident and submit a report within a month.

Rahul Gandhi made harsh remarks against Savarkar during Bharat Jodo Yatra in Mumbai. Rahul said that while in Andaman Jail, Savarkar kept writing apology letters to the British government and that he was a coward.

At the same time, the Gujarat High Court did not grant an interim stay on the verdict in the defamation case against Rahul Gandhi on the Modi reference today. As the court did not take a favorable stand in the case, Rahul Gandhi's disqualification will continue. Rahul Gandhi had approached the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the Surat court's sentence in the case of making defamatory remarks against the Modi community. The court decided to declare the judgment on Rahul Gandhi's appeal after the summer break. The court had heard the appeal filed by Rahul Gandhi on the 29th and postponed the case to May 2nd
