NEW DELHI: The National Investigating Agency (NIA) is conducting raids at hundreds of locations across six states. The NIA is conducting raids in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh.

The state police and the NIA are jointly conducting the investigation. Deepak Ranga, the main shooter in the May 2022 attack on the Punjab Police Intelligence headquarters in Mohali, was arrested from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh on January 25.
Also, cases related to terrorism-drugs-smuggling-gangs were registered from states like Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh. The NIA raid is being conducted in the background of all this. The NIA has concluded that Khalistan separatists are getting help from foreign countries.
