NEW DELHI: In CBI raids targeting child trafficking gangs, three newborn babies were rescued and seven people were arrested. The raid took place at seven places in Delhi. Those arrested are being interrogated.
The arrested include six Delhi natives and one Haryana native. Police suspects that there was an attempt to buy and sell newborn babies. A baby is bought for between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 6 lakh. Footage of the rescue of babies has emerged.
The investigation team thinks that the child trafficking gangs are working through social media. More arrests are likely in the coming days. According to CBI sources, around 10 children have been sold in the past month alone.
