Brij Bhushan Singh should be arrested, wrestlers who were taken into custody should be released; Delhi Commission for Women writes to commissioner

NEW DELHI: Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal has written a letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner demanding the arrest of BJP MP and Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in a sexual harassment complaint.

In the letter, Swati Maliwal also demanded the release of all the wrestlers who were detained during today's protest. The letter also says that action should be taken against the police officers who detained the sportspeople. The Women's Commission intervened after the wrestlers were manhandled and taken into custody by the Delhi Police.

The police stopped the protest march in front of the new Parliament which was inaugurated today and arrested and removed wrestlers including Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat. Farmer leaders who came to support the stars were also stopped by the police at the Delhi border.
