KOZHIKODE: Distribution of ration has stopped in many parts of the state. The explanation given by the authorities is that it is due to a fault in the e-POS machine.
Earlier, the central government had informed that a separate bill should be given to those who buy ration for free. After this, the software was updated and this caused the problem in the e-POS machine. Those who came to buy the ration yesterday had to return disappointed as the update was in progress.
Those who came to the ration shop this morning put their finger on the machine but the machine only showed 'members' information was being collected' and nothing else happened. Due to this, the distribution of ration had to be stopped.
