NEW DELHI: Confidential details including India’s BrahMos and major missile research details of the country were transferred by the defense scientist to the Pakistan-based women spy in a purported honey trap. DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) scientist Pradeep Kurulkar was arrested by Maharashtra anti-terrorist squad on May 3. The scientist is currently placed in Yerwada jail and is under judicial custody.
The Pak dame met Kurulkar through WhatsApp in the guise of Britain-based software engineer Sara Dasgupta. The +44 London code phone number was registered by the name Sara and Juhi Arora, which was used to connect with the Indian scientist. Starting in June 2022, the account shared steamy videos and sleazy chats with the scientist. However, by 2023 February, the DRDO scientist felt suspicious and blocked her number. In some day's time, a message reached him from one Indian number asking” Why did you block me?”
Kurulkar used to address Sara as 'Babe'. When the spy shrewdly asked the scientist whether the Agni-VI missile was a success or not, he replied coquettishly saying “ It was a huge success. The design was mine babe”
India's Astra missile is more accurate than Europe's Meteor', replied Kurulkar. He also provided information on Brahmos, Agni-VI, Rustom drone, unmanned combat aircraft, drone-robotics projects, quadcopters, DRDO duty chart, Rafale fighter jet, and Akash missile.
Spy agents leaked the confidential information stored on Kurulkar's phone through apps. E-mail passwords were given to Kurulkar to gain trust. ATS found that the IP address of the e-mail and the associated phone number belonged to Pakistan.
