THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sachithananda Swami, President of Sivagiri Dharma Sangam Trust, said Speaker A N Shamseer should express regret for his controversial remarks. Talking to a channel, he said the myth reference has hurt the believers and that he was willing to mediate in the matter.

He opined that he does not believe that the speaker's remark was deliberate and that it might have come accidentally during his speech. He said the protest may have happened because the believers were hurt and they cannot be blamed.

He also asked not to pollute the Kerala society. Sachithananda Swami added that although the speaker may say that scientific awareness can be developed, such issues should be handled carefully. He also pointed out that Lord Ganesha is revered by all communities.
