Onam kit only for yellow card holders, decision taken at cabinet meet

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet that convened here Wednesday decided to distribute free Onam kit containing essential items to Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) card holders (yellow) and residents of welfare institutions in the state during Onam this year. It was also decided to allocate Rs 32 crore in advance to Supplyco. 6,07,691 kits will be distributed this time. There are 5,87,691 AAY cards in the state. 20,000 kits will be given to residents of welfare institutions. The kit will be distributed through ration shops.

The kit contains tea, green gram, semiya payasam mix, ghee, cashew nut, coconut oil, sambar powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, sambar parippu, salt and a cloth bag.


It has been decided to extend 20 temporary posts from 01.04.2021 to 31.03.2024, which have been granted extension till 31.03.2021, allocated for four Land Acquisition Sections in Alappuzha, Malappuram, Kasaragod and Kannur Collectorates.


The cabinet also decided to appoint advocate K V Manoj as the chairperson of Kerala State Child Rights Protection Commission.
