lottery-agent-attack

PATHANAMTHITTA: Enraged for not winning the lucky draw, a lottery agent vandalized the district lottery office on Friday. Naranganam native Krishnakumar( 45) unleashed violence in the front office at 12:30 pm.

Krishnakumar came to the office wearing just a saffron dhoti and hollered about his bad luck for not winning prizes. He then warned everyone about putting fire in the office and wanted all to pay him attention. Just after introducing himself to the office staff, Krishnakumar threw the printer to the floor, completely damaging it. He later smashed the computer. The lady staff in the front office ran away in fear of getting attacked. While vandalizing, Krishnakumar raised concerns that the lottery agents in the state are not being protected by the government.

Learning about the incident, the police acted swiftly and took him into custody. Interstingly, Krishnakumar waved his hands and smiled at people while being forcibly moved by the police. According to reports, Krishnakumar was intoxicated at the time of the attack. He was produced before a court and was remanded.

Recently, he dressed up as Kuchelan and Gandhiji in the city and staged a one-man protest against the increase in petrol prices. Sometimes back, he came to the lottery office wearing such comic costumes to purchase tickets. He has been working as a lottery agent for two years and comes to buy lottery tickets only once a week or every two weeks.
