Helped Sachin Sawant to visit Guruvayur: Gift was given for son's birthday; Navya Nair's family with explanation in ED interrogation

THRISSUR: Navya Nair's family with explanation on ED questioning regarding IRS officer Sachin Sawant's arrest. They stated that they are familiar with Sachin Sawant as residents of the same residential society and that they have provided facilities to Sawant for him to visit Guruvayur several times. They said that apart from the birthday present to Navya's son, no other gift was given. The family said that ED was informed about these matters.

ED officials have alleged that the IRS officer, who was arrested for the illegal acquisition of wealth, was closely related to the actress. After this, Navya was interrogated by ED. ED also informed that it was found that Sachin Sawant gifted jewellery to Navya Nair. However, the actress clarified that they are only friends and there is no intimacy beyond that. This information is contained in the charge sheet filed by the ED in the court in connection with the case. Investigation in the case is ongoing.
