An example of India's diplomatic excellence

The biggest success of the G-20 summit hosted by India was the announcement to make the India-Middle East-Europe economic corridor a reality. The new route connecting India to Europe via the Middle East is a challenge to China's Belt and Road network. Had the Chinese president attended, he would have objected to this. The project will enable cargo transportation from India to West Asian countries including the Middle East and then to Europe. India is the biggest beneficiary of this. The new corridor will also lead to a huge boom in India-Europe trade. This will also ensure the success of the Make in India project.

Exports of Indian products will increase. Apart from this, India is also a hugely growing market among the countries of the world. India is one of the leading markets for mobiles, computers, etc. manufactured by foreign multinational companies. This is one of the major reasons why other countries are interested in India. In this situation, the successful conduct of the G-20 summit became a platform for the world leaders to directly understand India's excellence and leadership skills, and hence this summit became a political victory for India. Another great achievement was the inclusion of the African Union. This gives great hope for economically backward countries. There is a pattern of resource-rich African countries being exploited by rich countries in many ways. The fact that the G-20 summit, hosted by India, was able to initiate efforts to bring about a change in this has proved beyond doubt that ours is a country that not only believes but also acts on the principle that the world is one family.

Although the African Union has been demanding permanent membership in the G-20 for five years, it has been made possible now only. Conferences were held in more than fifty cities in India ahead of the summit to convince common people that diplomacy is not something to be done only in ivory towers. The summit also agreed on international cooperation to regulate cryptocurrencies. It is Modi's success as Prime Minister that he was able to turn the G-20, which would normally have been confined to an auditorium in Delhi, into a campaign for India's development excellence.
