Eid-e-Milad holiday should be given on September 28; Kanthapuram sends letter to Chief Minister

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama General Secretary Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliyar has written to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan requesting to shift the public holiday for Eid-e-Milad in the state to September 28.

Kanthapuram's letter has been issued seeking steps to change the public holiday from the current 27th to the 28th in the backdrop of Khasis and religious scholars deciding to observe Eid-e-Milad in Kerala on the 28th in accordance with the visibility of the moonrise. A letter has also been sent to Ministers V Abdurahiman and Ahammad Devarkovil under the leadership of Kerala Muslim Jamaat.
