Jude Anthony film ‘2018’ is India’s official entry to Oscars

2018 has been a year that has given the Malayalees so much misery that they can never forget. It was the biggest floods that Kerala has ever seen. '2018 Everyone is a Hero' is a film directed by Jude Anthony Joseph based on this great flood. The film has been selected as India's official entry to the Oscars. The film was selected by a panel headed by Girish Kasaravalli.

The scenes of the disaster suffered in 2018 have been presented in the film without any loss of intensity. The film clearly shows how Kerala faced the great floods. '2018' is also a story of the unity and courage of the Malayalees. The film had entered the 100-crore club.

The casts include Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, Kunchacko Boban, Naren, Lal, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aju Varghese, Joy Mathew, Jibin, Indrans, Shebin Baker, Sudheesh, Siddique, Tanvi Ram, Vineetha Koshy, Gauthami Nair, Sivada, Aparna Balamurali and many others. The film was produced jointly by Venu Kunnappally, Anto Joseph and C K Padma Kumar. Akhil George wielded camera for the film.

Mohanlal’s ‘Guru’ was the first Malayalam film to receive an Oscar entry. Lijo Jose Pellissery's Jellikattu also received an Oscar entry in 2020.
