Kudumbasree to free 6496 families in Kerala from extreme poverty within 100 days

KOLLAM: Kudumbasree comes up with 'Ujjeevanam' scheme to free 6496 families from extreme poverty within 100 days by ensuring income and employment.

The government survey found that there are 64000 extremely poor families in the state. The scheme includes families who will be released if their income is ensured.

The plan is to start the project on Ocober 25. A committee consisting of local body authorities and CDS officials has been formed for implementation. The committee will conduct home visits and discuss available employment. If there are skilled people in the profession, the benefiting profession will get financial assistance.

Others will be helped to start enterprises. Resource persons are responsible for coordinating the project. They will provide technical support as well as monitor implementation.
