Youth stabbed to death in Thrissur, brothers sustain serious injuries

THRISSUR: A youth was stabbed to death in Thrissur. Sreerag (26), son of Chandran of Olarikkara Thekkel Veettil was killed in the clash that broke out last night near the Diwanjimoola Passport Office. His brothers Sreerek and Sreeraj sustained serious injuries. The incident happened last night after 11 pm. Muhammed Althaf, the accused is also undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Sreerag and his friends were coming outside from the second platform of Thrissur Railway Station. They came out through the Diwanjimoola Colony. Althaf and his team who were camping in Diwanjimoola snatched their bag, but they did not get anything. Police said a dispute demanding to put the things inside which were taken out from the bag, ended in the stabbing.

Sreerag was taken to the general hospital, but his life could not be saved. His brothers Sreerek and Sreeraj are in a serious condition in the medial college. Althaf is admitted at the Cooperative Hospital. It is hinted that there were five in the goonda gang.

The area from the railway station to Poothol is a shelter of drug sellers. There are no street lights there.
