KANNUR: A youth has been fined Rs 86,500 after he was caught in the AI camera 155 times without a helmet in Pazhayangadi Matool. The young man was shocked when MVD came to his house last day with a receipt.

This is the largest fine by camera in the state. Apart from riding a bike without wearing a helmet, he has also been charged with careless driving, including showing 'hai' in front of the camera. Motor vehicle officials say that warning messages were sent to his mobile phone several times and letters were sent to his home, but there was no response.

The motor vehicle department officers finally reached the house in search of the youth as he was repeatedly violating the law. However, he pleaded with the officials and said that even if he sells the bike, he will not be able to pay this amount. The authorities informed that they are helpless before the law. The youth's license has also been suspended for one year.
