Anwar and team held for bringing and selling ganja in large quantities from other states

PALAKKAD: The excise seized more than 116 kg of ganja in Attapadi. As per the instructions of state excise enforcement squad head assistant excise commissioner T Anikumar, a massive ganja hunt was conducted under the leadership of Mannarkad excise circle inspector S B Adarsh on the basis of a secret information given by squad member Muhammadali.

Anwar (33) and Shameer (36), natives of Kozhikode Thamarasseri, Mohammad Hashif (21) and Adarsh (19), natives of Attapadi were arrested in connection with the case. The excise also seized the vehicles used by them to store and smuggle ganja. The arrested are the leaders of a gang that brings large quantities of ganja from other states and sells it in Kerala. The seized ganja is worth more than Rs 20 lakh in the drug market.

AEl Santhosh, POs Raju, Vinod, Shyamjith, Praveen Kumar, CEOs Dinesh, Bhojan, Praveen and WCEO Lijitha were present in the party.
