THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSU state committee member Naziya, who suffered a broken nose after being deliberately hit with a lathi by a policeman during a KSU march, will undergo surgery today at SP Fort Hospital here.

No action has been taken yet despite filing a complaint with the policeman's picture and address. The next move is to file a case in Thiruvananthapuram First Class Magistrate Court and Munsiff Court demanding strict action and compensation against the policeman.

Earlier complaints were made to DGP, Police Complaints Authority, Women's Commission, Human Rights Commission and Museum Police. A report was also submitted to the Special Branch Commissioner who investigated the incident. Still no action was taken.

The police hit Naziya with a lathi while taking part in a march to Minister R Bindu's residence in connection to alleged foulplay in the union elections at Kerala Varma College in Thrissur.
