Father hangs himself after stabbing son

PALA: A father hanged himself inside the house after stabbing his son following a property dispute. The deceased is Valleechira native Chellappan (73). His son and auto driver Shaji (40) has been admitted to the hospital. The incident happened around 8.30 yesterday morning. Chellappan stabbed his son without any provocation while the family members were talking about the family property. Shaji was injured in the face. As the locals took Shaji to the hospital, Chellappan committed suicide by hanging. The police said that he was undergoing treatment for mental illness. The funeral will be held at home today.
