NEW DELHI: Following Australia's World Cup win, a picture of Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh relaxing in a hotel room with his legs crossed over the World Cup trophy went viral and was received with criticism. The photo was shared by Australian captain Pat Cummins on Instagram.
Now RTI activist Pandit Keshav from Aligarh has filed a complaint against the cricketer. It is reported that the Uttar Pradesh police have registered a case in the incident.
According to the complaint, Marsh disrespected the world title. He also requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take steps to stop Marsh from being played in India. While fans have been critical of Marsh's actions, some have argued that each team has its own culture and is not wrong. Before this, many players from different sport have taken similar pictures after winning silverware.
