BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took a historic sortie in India's indigenously built Tejas fighter jet. Tejas is manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, a public sector organization based in Bengaluru.
PM Modi arrived at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in Bengaluru early Saturday morning and reviewed the activities here. The PM later shared the pictures on social media which was received well among netizens.
“Successfully completed a sortie on the Tejas. The experience was incredibly enriching, significantly bolstering my confidence in our country's indigenous capabilities, and leaving me with a renewed sense of pride and optimism about our national potential.” PM jotted down on X.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also took a sortie in Tejas a week ago. He responded that it was an amazing experience. The Indian Air Force currently operates 40 Tejas MK-1 aircraft. 83 Tejas fighter jets have been ordered in a deal worth Rs 36,468 crore.
