Alia Bhatt becomes latest victim of deepfake; police launch investigation after video goes viral

MUMBAI: While the police are conducting an investigation regarding the deep fake video released in the name of South Indian actress Rashmika Mandana, another Bollywood actress has fallen prey to deepfake. Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is the latest victim of deepfake. The video is going viral on social media. In the viral video, Alia's face has been morphed into that of another woman. The police have started an investigation into the video.

Earlier, after the release of Rashmika's video, the Union IT Ministry had warned that strict action would be taken in the incident. Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has asked social media platforms to take adequate steps to remove deep fake videos. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also came out against deepfake. The Prime Minister also asked the media to make people aware of the threat of deepfakes.
