Former athlete dies in bike accident in Punalur

KOLLAM: Former athlete and national medal winner Omkar Nath (25) died in an accident that happened on the Punalur national highway. The incident happened on Kollam-Thirumangalam national highway. His friend, who was pillion riding sustained injuries and is in the hospital. Omkar Nath is the havildar of Thiruvananthapuram rural SP camp.

The accident happened when the bike went out of control and crashed into a tree near Punalur Valacode Church. The police said that the condition of his friend is stable. He is

presently undergoing treatment in the medical college hospital. Omkar Nath is a former athlete of M A College.
