Oyoor case: Police attempt to acquire kidnappers' phone call details goes futile

abigail

KOLLAM: The police are struggling to find the phone call details of the accused who kidnapped a six-year-old girl in Oyoor. Although a detailed investigation has been conducted with the cyber cell experts, no clue has been found.

Therefore, the police assume that the accused were not contacted through direct phone calls. Cyber experts say that the woman and others in the group may have exchanged ideas through social media including WhatsApp or through VPN calls.

The woman who left the child in the Asramam ground sneaked away in seconds and was not to be found anywhere near the premises during the detailed police search. The police also said that the gang members may have communicated through WhatsApp groups or Telegram groups using systems like Wi-Fi.

With end-to-end encryption security, WhatsApp calls cannot be monitored by the police like other calls. If the police can approach WhatsApp officials directly through Cyber cell, crucial information regarding the gang can be obtained.
