BENGALURU: Panic gripped parents in Bengaluru after more than 15 schools in the city received email threats on Friday. Following the threat, the police and the bomb squad are conducting inspections at the schools in the state capital.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand called the threat a hoax. He said that there was no need for the parents, students and teaching community to panic.

“We have sent bomb detection and disposal squads. The police have undertaken search operations. In 2022, we received a threat message stating that bombs have been planted in 15 schools. However, later it was found to be a hoax. On that day, various teams inspected each school. But nothing suspicious was found. The current incident is also believed to be a hoax. There is no need to panic. The city is safe," he said.
