High Court denies permission; state government changes venue of Nava Kerala Sadas

high-court

KOCHI: The Kerala government has shifted the venue of Nava Kerala Sadas in the Ollur constituency from the Puthur Zoological Park. The decision comes after the High Court said that the Zoological Park cannot be given away to organise the Nava Kerala Sadas.

The court emphasized that the entire park is for the purpose of the zoo. It also inquired as to why it was decided to give up such a location to host a program such as the Nava Kerala Sadas.

When the court asked whether microphones would be used for the programme, director Keerthi IFS said that a sound restriction has been implemented in the region. Although the director said that the programme would be held at the parking space of the zoo, the court did not approve this argument.

The court had examined the documents related to organizing the event. It also said that it would not allow to organise the event at the zoo premises. The government had said that it was ready to shift the venue to another place if it did not get permission.
