"Precious lives were lost": HC says it doesn't want to blame students for CUSAT tragedy

KOCHI: The High Court on Tuesday said that the students should not be blamed for the accident during the concert at CUSAT. "Precious lives have been lost in the accident. The court does not want to blame anyone. It is learnt that the students were controlling the crowd there

The court's remarks came on a petition filed by KSU seeking a judicial inquiry. The court directed the government and the university authorities to submit a report on the ongoing investigation. The plea was adjourned to next Thursday.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the CUSAT tragedy, a committee was formed to prepare a code of conduct for programs in campuses.


The committee will also conduct a detailed probe into the CUSAT tragedy.
