Malayalees dead in Kashmir identified as Palakkad natives

SRINAGAR: In a devastating incident at Jammu and Kashmir's Sojila Pass, a group of travelers from Chittoor faced a fatal accident. The victims, Sudesh (32), Anil (34), Rahul (28) and Vignesh (23) along with their vehicle's driver, Ijaz Ahmed Awan from Kashmir, lost their lives when their car plunged into gorge. Among the group, Manoj, Rajish and Arun sustained injuries, with one person in critical condition.

Reportedly, the accident took place due to adverse weather conditions while the group was en route to Sonam Marg on November 30. A total of ten youths were part of the excursion, with seven inside the vehicle involved in the tragedy. The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to a hospital in Srinagar.

The Jammu and Kashmir police attribute the accident to inclement weather. The injured people are currently receiving medical treatment.
