KOTTAYAM: BJP leaders and workers will visit Christian homes this month to kick off the parliamentary election campaign activities. The state leadership meeting held in Kottayam yesterday decided to visit all the Christian homes from 20th to 30th in the name of Sneha Yatra and give them Christmas wishes.
Another extended visit is planned under the assumption that the visit made last Christmas and Easter has reduced the distance between Christians and BJP.
A padayatra will be held at the state level next month under the leadership of state president K Surendran. General Secretary MT Ramesh said that the meeting chaired by K Surendran also decided to organize conventions in the district and constituencies. Convention will be organized in district headquarters and constituencies. Conventions led by state leaders will also include civic leaders. Expansion of NDA is also targeted along with Padayatra. Talks have already been held with many prominent parties. MT Ramesh said that the Kerala Janapaksham (Secular) Party led by PC George is currently not in the NDA but is ideologically aligned with the Front.
Senior leader O Rajagopal inaugurated the state leadership meeting held at Kottayam district committee office in the morning. State President K Surendran, National Executive Committee members Kummanam Rajasekharan, PK Krishnadas and District President Lijinlal were present.
