On Saturday, Kanam Rajendran’s dead body was brought to the PS memorial in Pattom for people in the capital city to pay homage.

Tears welled up within onlookers who saw congress leader A K Antony consoling CPI leader D Raja, who broke down seeing Kanam. Ministers K. Rajan, P. Prasad, and G. R. Anil also failed to hold their tears. Thousands of people, regardless of political affiliation, waited in the family home and surrounding areas to catch a glimpse of Kanam for one last time.
