Toddler slips into well from mother's hand while escaping stray dog attack

MALAPPURAM: A seven-month-old toddler fell into a well and died after her mother lost control while running away from a stray dog. Seven-month-old Haja Mariam is the deceased. Haja Mariam is the daughter of Samiya and Shihabuddin. The family hails from Thambanangadi.

According to locals and relatives, Samiya took the toddler near to the well area to remove the kid’s sanitary napkin. However, a stray dog thrusted towards them which made Samiya run along with her child. Shockingly, while running she stumbled on a rock and lost grip of the toddler, who fell into the well.

The police and fire brigade arrived immediately and took the child to the hospital, but her life could not be saved.
