SFI will suffer if booked under IPC 124 for obstructing Governor, will take seven years to get released

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It was a serious lapse on the part of the police that SFI activists stopped the Governor at three places in the city despite the presence of a large police team under the leadership of five assistant commissioners. There was an intelligence report that the governor's car would be stopped.

Therefore, the governor's itinerary to the airport was conveyed by the top officials over the phone rather than over the wireless. The leakage of the itinerary is also a serious lapse. A circle inspector and sub inspector of the intelligence leaked the itinerary to the SFI. One of them is the officer of the police organization. Yet there was a serious failure to stop the SFI. The unusual incident was stopped for the third time in three and a half kilometers by the SFIs, which angered the governor. The governor got out of the car and reacted strongly when he was stopped near the police station in Pettah. It is an unusual event in India for the governor to approach the protesters and shout.
