'Shut your bloody mouth Mr Khan..'; Minister Riyas tears into Kerala Governor

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Mohammed Riyas expressed strong words of criticism at the Governor for the latter’s taunting back at SFI. “We are capable of giving a 'Shut your bloody mouth Mr Arif Muhammad Khan’ type comment but are keeping restraint only for the respect towards the Governor post,” Riyas said.

The minister’s strong rebuttal came during the Nava Kerala Sadas event in Konni on Sunday.

“Across India, there is wide unrest instigated by governors, especially in Non BJP-ruled states. However, the congress in Kerala is keeping a blind eye to this fact. Governor Arif Khan who claims to know the 'bloody history' of Kannur, however, is untaught in the topic. Kannur is the land where many people were martyred in the anti-colonial struggle. Thalassery in Kannur was the same place chosen by RSS leadership to create a wedge on a religious basis. However, it was fought back with ferocity by communists and the people.

When the RSS tried to attack the mosque, a comrade named U K Kunjiraman came solely to guard the mosque. This same RSS killed Kunjiraman brutally. Kannur later formed a bulwark against this RSS ideology of divide and rule. The man who led from the front during those turbulent times was Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan. Governor should kindly take note of this history” Riyas countered.
