ALLEPPEY: The Alappuzha Magistrate Court has ordered that a case be filed against the gunman who assaulted the Youth Congress workers during the Navakerala Yatra. The court directed to file a case against the gunman Anil, security officer Sandeep and three security personnels. The direction of the court is to Alappuzha South Police. The gunman beat up the youth congress members while they were in police custody.

Youth Congress State General Secretary Adv Ajay Jewel and KSU District President Eddie Thomas filed the petition in Alappuzha Judicial First Class Magistrate Court. The petition seeks to file a case under IPC 294B, 326,324 against Chief Minister's gunman Anil and security officer Sandeep.

On the 16th, when the Chief Minister and the ministers were going to the Navakerala Sadas in Ambalapuzha constituency by bus from Alappuzha, the two who raised slogans at the General Hospital Junction were detained by the policemen on duty there and shifted to the roadside. After that, the gunman and the security officer jumped from the Chief Minister's escort vehicle and beat them with lathis. Thomas suffered a head injury and Ajay Jewel's hand was broken.

Both filed a complaint with the South Police, but no case was registered. When they sought a report on the complaint given to the District Police Chief, the South Police replied that they were beaten with a lathi in an unavoidable situation.
