Chalakudy Bevco outlet retains top rank in record Christmas sales, Powerhouse Road outlet also in list

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bevco saw record sales of liquor over the three days of the Christmas holiday in the state. A whopping Rs 154.77 crore sale was done through Bevco outlets in the state during the winter holiday season. The sale also saw a jump during the eve of the Christmas holiday.

Liquor worth Rs 70.73 crore was sold on December 24. Last year it was Rs 69.55 crores. On 22nd and 23rd December of this year, Rs 84.04 crore sale was recorded. Last year, it was Rs 75 crores. The numbers coming out ascertain that the Christmas holidays are going to be a booze fest in the state which also helps fill the government coffers.

Liquor worth Rs 63,85,290 was sold from Chalakudy Bevco outlet, which ranks first in the state during this winter season sales. Liquor worth Rs 62,87,120 was sold in Changanassery and Rs 62,31,240 in Irinjalakuda.

The outlet on Powerhouse Road in the capital city, which often grabs the top spot in sales, sold liquor worth Rs 60,08,130 while the North Paravoor outlet sold Liquor worth Rs 51,99,570.
