CAPE TOWN: India showed resurgence in fine fashion bowling out South Africa for just 55 runs on the first day of the second test. Mohammad Siraj turned the catalyst for Indian success as the Hyderabad bowler took six main wickets, thereby crumbling the South African batting order.
The fine display came as a perfect reply to the drubbing India received against South Africa in the first test match. Siraj bowled nine overs and took six wickets conceding just 15 runs including three maidens. Wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne, who scored 15 runs, and David Bedingham, who scored 12 runs, were the only two in the South African squad to cross the double-digit figure.
Siraj took the wickets of Aiden Markram (2), Dean Elgar (4), Tony De Zorzi (2), David Bedingham (12), Kyle Verreynne (15) and Marco Jansen (0). Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar took two wickets each.
