THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state is likely to get heavy rain in the state. The central meteorological department has sounded yellow alert in Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod.
The low pressure over the South-East Arabian Sea has weakened into a cyclonic system. A low-pressure area is present from Cyclone to South Karnataka. As a result of this, the weather department has warned that there is a possibility of moderate/light rain in Kerala for the next five days.
There is yellow alert in in Idukki and Palakkad and the day after tomorrow in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam. A chance of isolated heavy rain has been predicted. The central meteorological department has informed that there is no disruption to fishing in the Kerala-Karnataka coasts and that one should not go fishing in the Lakshadweep area.
Strong winds and bad weather conditions are likely over Lakshadweep area till tomorrow with a speed of 40 to 45 kmph and at some occasions up to 55 kmph.
