Case against six fraternity activists in Kozhikode for sticking Pro-Palestinian posters in hotel

KOZHIKODE: The police have registered a case against six students in the incident of sticking pro-Palestine posters in a hotel. Six activists of the Fraternity Movement stuck the posters at the Starbucks outlet operating in Kozhikode beach. The Kozhikode town police registered a case against them in the incident.


A case has been filed against the students under sections including incitement to riots. The police took into custody the secretary and president of the fraternity movement in connection with the incident. The students informed that there will be a strong protest against the police action.


Meantime, the police had taken into custody a 20-year-old youth for his WhatsApp status in support of Palestine in Karnataka a few days ago. Alam Pasha, a native of Karnataka's Vijayanagar, was arrested by the police. The police obtained secret information that some people were supporting Palestine in a hospital in Vijayanagar amidst the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The police stated that the youth was taken into custody after finding that they were spreading anti-national videos that could disrupt law and order. The police said that this is a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of such videos. Pasha was booked for spreading seditious content.
