Woman bank manager found dead in hotel room, boyfriend arrested

MUMBAI: A bank manager was found murdered in a hotel room in Mumbai. The deceased is Amit Ravindra Kaur (Amy-35), a native of Sion's Koliwada. The police said that she was allegedly strangled by her boyfriend, Shoeb Shaikh (24), a native of UP. The police arrested him from his house in Sakinaka.

Amy, who was killed, was the manager of IDFC Bank's Navi Mumbai branch. Both of them took a room at the hotel to celebrate the woman's birthday on January 8. During interrogation, the accused revealed that he killed her in a fit of rage. The accused, who sneaked out of the hotel after the incident, was caught before he could go to his hometown in UP.

It is reported that the murder was committed due to the suspicion that the woman was having a relationship with someone else. The two met through social media three months ago. Amy got divorced in September 2023 and has a daughter. When the police arrived on a tip-off and opened the room, they found Amy strangled.
