Yet another setback for Uddhav; Speaker recognises Shinde faction

MUMBAI: The Uddhav Thackeray faction of the Shiv Sena faced yet another setback after Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar noted that the Shinde faction was the real Shiv Sena following the June 2022 split in the party.

The Election Commission had earlier recognised the Shinde faction which has the support of a majority of MLAs. Uddhav Thackeray stated that the speaker's decision was detrimental to democracy and will be questioned in the Supreme Court. The Speaker also rejected the demand of both sides to disqualify the MLAs.
