Case registered against watcher and five tourists for trespassing in Athirappilly forest

THRISSUR: The Forest Department has registered a case against the tourists who trespassed in the Athirappily forest. It was the Deputy Range Officer of Athirappilly Forest Station who registered the case against five natives of Angamaly. The Deputy Range Officer took action against them under the Forest Act.

According to sources, the tourists travelled more than ten kilometres into the forest in their vehicle last Friday. This vehicle will also be seized. Ayyampuzha native Sreelesh, the temporary watcher who was with the tourists, is also an accused in the case. The deputy range officer said that the accused and the vehicle would be caught soon and the accused watcher has been dismissed from the job.
