'Will end up in wheelchair'; Mueen Ali Shihab Thangal receives death threat

MALAPPURAM: Syed Mueen Ali Shihab Thangal received death threats from an anonymous phone number on Saturday. Mueen Ali, a member of the Panakkad Pookkoya Thangal family, received a text message on his phone asking him to be tight-lipped and not criticize the party leadership. The message also threatened Mueen Ali that he would soon see days of suffering in a wheelchair if the criticism against the party continued.

“ If you continue to criticize the party, we will come out and ruin all social programs you are engaged in” The message mentions.

Mueen Ali Thangal alleged Muslim League activist Rafi Puthiyakadav to be behind the threat. He filed a complaint with the Malappuram police. The audio clip of the threat has also been handed over to the police, Mueen Ali Thangal had earlier come out against the remarks made by Muslim League leader PK Kunhalikutty on Samastha.

Mueen Ali earlier retorted to Kunhalikutty’s comment saying that he won’t allow anyone to create discord and wipe out the legacy of the Panakkad Pookkoya Thangal family.
