Back when PM Modi laid the foundation of the Ram temple in 2021, the film fraternity in Kerala detested the function and criticized the Prime minister on social media without holding back. Even many in Kerala who are fans and admirers of these celebrities followed suit in condemning the PM back in 2021. The same bevvy of artists is back again loathing the January 22 event of Prana Prathistha which was led by PM Modi in Ayodhya.
Stars Parvathy Thiruvoth, Rima Kallingal and director Aashiq Abu have decided to post a picture of the Indian constitution on their social media handle to denounce the Ram Temple ceremony.
Parvathy shared a picture of the constitution on Facebook with the caption 'Our India'. Aashiq Abu shared the same image with the caption, 'India, Sovereign Socialist Secular Democratic Republic'. Rima Kallingal's post is captioned 'Justice, Freedom, Equality, Brotherhood'.
However, unlike in the earlier years, all these celebrities are seeing dwindling support for their posts while comments are crammed with 'Jai Shree Ram' captions. Many of these accounts hail from north India but a considerable portion of users are from Kerala.
" Cry harder, Jai Shree Ram," said one user on Rima's Instagram page.
Even one Instagram user in the comment section of actress Rima Kallingal expressed shock seeing the comments and feared the prospect of Kerala soon changing into a saffron state.
Going against the tide, actor Unni Mukundan decided to celebrate the day by lighting a lamp in a ceremony organized on the movie set. to commemorate the Prana Pratishtha was released earlier.
It is the return of Lord Rama. It is the long awaited day. Jai Shree Ram'- said Unni Mukundan.
