Nitish Kumar sworn in as Bihar CM for record ninth time; BJP determined to win all 40 seats in LS polls

PATNA: Nitish Kumar, who dissolved his government in Bihar and left the grand alliance with RJD and Congress, took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar on Sunday for the ninth time. Governor Rajendra Arlekar administered the oath of office to him at a function held at Raj Bhavan.

BJP State President Samrat Chaudhary and Leader of Opposition Vijaykumar Sinha were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers. Apart from them, six other ministers have also been sworn in. BJP president JP Nadda flew from Delhi to Patna to attend the event.

It is reported that JDU-BJP have agreed to remain in the present stand till the next elections. It is also reported that Nitish will be given the post of NDA convener from 2025.

Just after the swearing-in ceremony, BJP top brass from Bihar raised hope about winning all 40 seats from the state and said they would aim to keep RJD from the reaches of power just like they did in 2019.
