MALE: Chaos prevailed in Maldives parliament after a scuffle between ruling and opposition MPs over a parliamentary approval for the ministers in President Mohamed Muizzu's cabinet turned ugly. Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) People's National Congress (PNC) and members of the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) turned to their rookie side and unleashed a pure show of physical might inside the parliament chambers. Many were injured in the clash while one MP suffered deep injury in the head.

The opposition members tried to disrupt the parliamentary session before the start of the key parliament session. Opposition members, who expressed objections about certain members of the cabinet, opposed the approval of four ministers. The dramatic scenes unfolded when the opposition MPs were banned from entering the Parliament floor before the voting. The footage of the incident went viral on social media.

Some among the opposition MPs climbed the dais of the speaker and hooted in protest which irked the ruling MPs to settle the matter by sheer force. This kickstarted the unruly chaos inside the parliament which is now going viral across social media.
