'Treasury control will be lifted if 50 percent central share is received'

balagopal

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance Minister KN Balagopal said in the Legislative Assembly that if 50 percent of the allocation from the Center is received, the control of the treasury will be completely withdrawn. Loans taken by KIIFB and Pension Company are being repaid properly. This borrowing is not a loss. Kerala has seen the highest increase in assets. The propaganda that contractors are owed Rs 15,000 crore is untrue. As of yesterday, only 1021 crore is due.

Minister KN Balagopal informed the Assembly that a special scheme is being considered from tomorrow to provide benefits to KSFE chit and loan defaulters. This facility is available for chits and loans due before December 31.
