Woman dies after jumping before train with son, divorced a week ago

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman who jumped before a moving train with her son, has died. The dead is Jarmy (34) of Parassala Kottamam Manchadi Maruthalakkalvila House. Her seriously injured five-year-old son identified as Adish has been admitted to a private hospital in Neyyattinkara. The incident happened near the Kottamam old age home at 6.45 pm last evening.

Jarmy, who was walking with her son near the track, jumped before the moving train when it came. The train was moving at a slow speed as it left after a stop. The train fatally knocked down both. The cause of death is the injury she sustained on her head. She got divorced from her husband a week ago.

One person had died the other day after hit by a train in Kollam. Thulaseedharan (56) of Chathinamkulam Pally Thekkathil House, a KSEB lineman, died after being hit by a train just hours before he was to retire from service. The body was found at the end of the platform north of Perinad railway station. The Anchalummoodu police informed that it was hit by Vande Bharat. Thulaseedharan was a lineman on the Kovilmukku-Kanjiramkuzhi part. It is believed that the train may have hit him when he went to Kovilmukku after night duty.
