RANCHI: The JMM-Congress-RJD coalition government of Champai Soren, who recently took over as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, won a majority in the trust vote. Champai Soren got the support of 47 MLAs in the 80-member assembly. 29 MLAs voted against it. Former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who is in ED custody in connection with the money laundering case, also attended the trust vote with the permission of the court.

The ruling party MLAs were lodged in a resort in Hyderabad, alleging that the BJP was making subversive attempts. They were brought to the capital last night ahead of the trust vote. Champai Soren needed the support of 41 MLAs. Following this, trust vote was held in Jharkhand today.
